The fastest way to reach a real person is email. We read every message.

Delete your account

You can delete your account at any time, right from inside the app:

1. Open 50/50 and go to the Profile tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
3. Confirm. Deletion happens straight away and can't be undone.

What is deleted:

• Your profile photos and your verification selfie — we delete the image files from our storage, not just hide them.
• Your profile — your gender, your prompts, your height, your city, and the approximate location your deck was built from.
• Your matching preferences and every notification setting — age range, distance, who you're interested in, and which alerts you had turned on.
• Your likes and passes, and your blocks — yours on other people, and theirs on you.
• Your reply rate and your deck history — your reply-rate score, and the record of which profiles you were shown. The timing records the score was calculated from are covered below.
• Your second-date answers, and what you wrote on a date plan — any private "yes" you gave to a second date is deleted and never shown to anyone, the days you'd marked yourself free go with it, and the note you wrote on a plan is erased. The plan itself is covered below.
• Your push-notification tokens and every signed-in session.
• Your pending matches, which were never visible to anyone in the first place.
• Your name, birthday, email address, campus, and sign-in identifiers, cleared from your account record.

What we keep, and why. We'd rather tell you plainly than promise total erasure we don't deliver. Some things outlive your account on purpose:

• Abuse reports. If you reported someone, or someone reported you, that report and any message excerpt attached to it is kept as a safety record. Your name and the rest of your details are cleared from the account it points at, but it still points at that account. Deleting safety history on request would make the app less safe for the people still using it.
• Messages inside a match that had already been revealed. When you delete, a revealed conversation ends visibly for the other person instead of silently vanishing. They keep that thread read-only — nobody can send to it again, but they can still scroll what the two of you already said, and it shows no name, photo, or profile for you. On our side the messages stay encrypted and are retained in case a report is ever made about the conversation. Beyond the two of you, the only person who can read them is an administrator working a specific report about that match, and that access writes an internal audit record.
• The timing behind your reply rate. For each match, when the 48-hour reply clock opened and whether it was answered, plus when that match was revealed. These are timestamps only — no name, no photo, no message text — and they stay attached to the closed match and to the empty account record below. The score itself is deleted; these are the rows it was calculated from.
• A date you'd already arranged. The plan is cancelled, not erased — the time and the place stay on that match's record, because the other person agreed to them too and it's their plan as much as yours. The note you wrote on it is deleted.
• A ban record, if the account was banned. We keep a one-way hashed record of the sign-in identifiers so a banned person can't delete and re-register to get back in. We store the hash, never the raw email address or sign-in id, and there's no way in the app to clear it afterward. A suspension is not recorded this way, so deleting your account while it is suspended does not lock you out for good. An account in good standing has nothing like this kept at all.
• A record that you bought something, if you ever did. We mark the purchase revoked and keep the row for accounting and refunds. It carries no name, email, or photo — it hangs off the empty account record below, and if you bought through the App Store it also keeps Apple's reference for that purchase.

An empty account record stays behind purely as an anchor for those items, with your personal details stripped out of it. We don't call any of that anonymous, because it isn't — everything above still ties back to that one record. The honest word is pseudonymous: the identifying details are emptied out, the link between them is not. The full retention picture is in our Privacy Policy.

Report or block someone

If someone makes you uncomfortable, you can report or block them from inside a conversation:

1. Open the chat with that person.
2. Use the report / block controls in the chat header.

Blocking is immediate and silent. Reports go to our team, and we aim to review and act on them within 24 hours. For anything urgent or serious, email [email protected].
